Position Summary All Lines Technology has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Architect in Pittsburgh! The Infrastructure Architect role is responsible for interpreting technology requirements and defining the design patterns for common technology architectures that will meet the business needs. The Infrastructure Architect will play a pivotal role in driving cloud adoption and shaping the infrastructure that supports the technology and security framework, ensuring that infrastructure standards are made in accordance with established standards, patterns, policies, procedures, and software licensing agreements.
Primary Success Factors
Lead key technology infrastructure modernization program initiatives as identified in the information technology strategic plan and provide direct analysis and recommendations associated with the implementation or migration of specific applications to modern cloud services.
Lead implementation and maintenance of cloud management solutions including initial and ongoing configuration of related automation, notifications, and reporting capabilities.
Collaboratively work with a variety of legacy applications and platforms along with application teams to implement or migrate associated components to cloud services.
Responsible for providing technical leadership in the areas of solution architecture and design in accordance with industry standard best patterns and practices. Identifies deviations in the solution design from the target architecture and proposes appropriate solutions.
Ability to provide technical direction and guidance to the bank’s enterprise architecture group relative to cloud infrastructure platforms design related topics, including research and design activities when required. This includes professional level presentation and communication.
Works closely with program managers, architects, other team members and external resources in the solution definition and design processes, with a goal of ensuring that the solution design fits the enterprise context. Ability to communicate extremely well with both business users and highly technical resources.
Drives, maintains, publishes, and socializes reference standards for technical architecture and patterns, as well as guidelines for infrastructure efforts. Mentor infrastructure resources in the correct application of best practices and design patterns.
Guides the solution design review process, taking a leadership role in design alternatives and guiding implementation of best practices. Lead design of creation and maintenance of artifacts in the enterprise architecture repository.
Contributes to the creation and definition of the IT strategy by contributing research, coordinating discussions across business and technical domains, and creating artifacts for communication of the strategy. Works with other technical architects to achieve strategic milestones with a goal of coordinating efforts to align the IT strategy with the business needs.
Understand emerging cloud and infrastructure platforms solutions and apply to advance technology modernization programs
Required Experience
Bachelors of Science, Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience, in architecting, maintaining, and managing technology across variety of technical and business disciplines
Professional level certification (AWS and Azure) preferred
In-depth understanding of one or more cloud platforms preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. This includes knowledge of their services, features, pricing models, and best practices for architecting solutions on these platforms.
Excellent skills in communication, contextualization, conceptualization, abstraction, modeling, patterns, design
Hands-on experience in all aspects of target cloud computing (compute, CI/CD, containers, storage, platforms, data, networking and security)
Experience designing highly available and fault-tolerant architectures in multi-site and multi-cloud deployments, auto-scaling, load balancing, and design disaster recovery strategies.
Hands-on expertise with cloud infrastructure components such as virtual machines, containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions), object storage (e.g., Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage), and block storage.
Deep knowledge in solution design and strategic artifacts
Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong aptitude for technology and an ability to learn quickly
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, coordinate work assignments with management throughout the organization and reliably meet commitments
Hands-on Infrastructure as Code tools experience like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager to define and manage cloud infrastructure using code. Writing and maintaining infrastructure code to provision and configure resources.
